JCS Elementary Students
Jackpot Combined Schools is more than just a school; it’s an extension of our families. Here, small class sizes and caring staff work together to ensure every child receives the skills they need to learn and grow and prepare for high school success.
In the Classroom
Students in our classrooms learn more than reading, writing, and arithmetic. They also learn respect, team work, leadership skills, and personal responsibility. And our outdoor classroom opens the door to hands-on learning experiences. We welcome you to share in your child’s education by supporting our Nevada Kids Read program and reading every night with your child. You can also volunteer in the classroom or help out during school activities. Just let our child’s teacher know you are interested. We welcome your assistance in whatever capacity your schedule allows.
Elko County Library
The Elko County Library is a wonderful resource to our community. We encourage you to use it often with your children. You can check out ebooks, browse the collection remotely, and reserve books for curbside pickup! Simply go to the Elko County Library website and click on “Search Our Catalog” in the upper right corner. Then choose the “Jackpot” branch and start searching. If you would like to schedule a curbside pickup, you will need to call the library at (775) 755-2356. You must have a library card to check out books, but signing up is easy. Just give them a call or stop by for details.
Playground Rules
Elementary students are welcome to use our school playground before and after school, at recess, and during their lunch break. For safety, we do not allow students to play outside the play area during recess. We expect all students to follow the instructions of the playground monitor on duty and to abide by these rules:
Be Safe
Do not push, tackle, rough-house, or pretend fight with other students.
Choose no-contact games.
Use Good Judgment
Do not throw things; not even snowballs.
Use balls and other equipment as it was intended.
Stay out of standing water and mud.
Be Respectful
Take turns and do not use foul language.
Keep your hands to yourself.
No Bikes or Skateboards
